NetSuite Advanced Customer Support (ACS): What Each Tier Includes

By Louis Balla, Chief Revenue Officer, Nuage. Updated October 2026.

NetSuite Advanced Customer Support (ACS) is Oracle’s subscription service for ongoing help optimizing a NetSuite account. It comes in four levels, Advise, Monitor, Optimize and Architect, and engagement and resource expertise increase at each level. ACS Optimize adds a designated Customer Success Manager and Oracle’s ACS Playbooks. Your Oracle account manager helps you choose a level.

This guide covers what each level includes and how ACS work divides with your own team or a partner. The level details come from Oracle’s Help Center and from Oracle’s NetSuite ACS Service Descriptions, effective September 15, 2026.

What is NetSuite Advanced Customer Support (ACS)?

Oracle’s service description defines ACS as “a subscription offering that provides You with hands-on product guidance, configuration, support, and ongoing optimization” for NetSuite. The Help Center says it exists for the gap that grows between what your business software does and what the business needs as it changes, and that ACS team members are NetSuite product and industry experts.

Oracle’s Help Center describes benefits including:

  • Optimize the use and performance of your NetSuite solution.
  • Work with NetSuite experts.
  • Apply prescriptive solutions to common business challenges.
  • Adopt new features from NetSuite releases.
  • Resolve issues quickly when you need it most.
  • Align your business goals with tailored, strategic roadmaps.

ACS is a separate subscription from NetSuite Support. A support case goes to Oracle’s support team under your Basic or Premium support level. ACS gives you a set number of ACS hours over the subscription term and, from Monitor up, designated people who work on your account.

What are the NetSuite ACS tiers, and what does each include?

Oracle documents four levels. Each subscription also includes an ACS Review every twelve months: an assessment of your business needs, configuration, third-party solutions, integrations, customizations and transaction volumes, used to decide where ACS time goes. Oracle’s service description caps the hours each annual review can use and limits them to review work such as gap and performance analysis. Oracle decides how many of those hours each review needs.

Level How Oracle describes it What Oracle says it includes Maximum hours for the annual ACS Review
ACS Advise The entry level, for customers getting started with NetSuite Access to NetSuite specialists for product guidance and system troubleshooting 8
ACS Monitor For established businesses that need hands-on technical and functional support A designated functional consultant who helps with project activities so key milestones are met on time 16
ACS Optimize Expert solution management for a deeper, more proactive engagement A designated Customer Success Manager for strategic milestones and a functional consultant to optimize the solution 75
ACS Architect For enterprise businesses with complex international or subsidiary configurations Solution design for scalability and performance, a senior Customer Success Manager and a named team of technical, functional and support resources 150

The current service description lists the items as ACS Advise, ACS Monitor 36, ACS Optimize 20 and ACS Architect 40. The number of ACS hours you receive each month, or each quarter for Monitor, is up to the quantity in your order form. Extra hours can be bought as Extended Service packs.

What does ACS Optimize include?

ACS Optimize pairs you with a designated Customer Success Manager, who works with you on strategic milestones, and a functional consultant who works on the solution itself. Three terms apply only to Optimize and Architect.

ACS Playbooks. Oracle’s playbooks are prescriptive services tied to growth milestones. The topics are financial management, human capital, supply chain operations, customer 360, project profitability, international expansion, performance and risk management, capital markets, cross-functional processes such as quote to cash and procure to pay, and industry playbooks. The performance and risk management playbook covers system architecture, capacity planning, integrations, access controls, environment management and script reviews.

Systems architecture guidance. The service description adds help with defining NetSuite’s role in a multi-vendor setup, including master data, with strategies for development, testing and release activities, with the impact of product releases, and with migrating changes between development, testing and production accounts.

A Premium Support requirement. Customers on Optimize or Architect must hold NetSuite Premium Support under a separate contract for the length of the ACS term. Our post on NetSuite Premium Support compares it with an optimization team.

What can ACS hours be used for?

Oracle’s service description lists the work ACS hours can cover at every level. In summary:

  • Guidance on, or help executing, development and configuration
  • Notice of upcoming releases, their possible impact on your account, and testing your existing processes against a new release when you ask
  • Reviews of requirements, design, configuration and technical components
  • Reports on data, design, configuration and performance risks, with recommendations
  • Fixes for customizations, and new code for customizations and integrations
  • Testing, including unit testing
  • Changes to business process flows, workflows, scripts and integrations
  • Connecting a customer-supplied large language model to NetSuite, and building and testing AI prompts

Two terms shape how teams plan ACS work. Oracle decides whether an individual request fits the per-request hour limit in your order form, and it can decline a request it considers outside the scope of ACS. Unused hours are forfeited at the end of their period. Keep a ranked list of requests ready before each period starts so the hours get used.

What does Oracle expect from your team during ACS?

The service description also lists the customer’s obligations. These include:

  • Name a primary and a secondary contact with access to the right functional, technical and business people.
  • Attend recurring status meetings.
  • Manage, prioritize and communicate on ACS cases.
  • Validate requested changes in sandbox and confirm they reach production.
  • Run user acceptance testing, raise and resolve its issues, and sign off in writing within a two-week window.
  • Train users, and handle post-production maintenance and support of the account.

Oracle also states that it is not responsible for configuration, updates, development or testing on third-party applications, such as another vendor’s tax or shipping add-on. You can choose to use ACS hours for guidance and recommendations on those applications by telling Oracle, and Oracle may help with your own review of them at its discretion.

Your team still runs user acceptance testing and signs off, even when ACS hours cover release testing, and some finance teams prefer to run the testing themselves. Ahead of the 2026.2 upgrade, a controller at a utility services company wrote to our team: “I am considering rescheduling this release for a week and have you install the upgrade in our sandbox environment first so our team can test.” Her team ran the testing itself, with our guidance on what in the account was customized. Oracle upgrades each account on a date it posts in the What’s New in the Suite portlet, and for testing ahead of that date, Oracle’s Help Center says a Release Preview account is available twice a year, right before each release, so you can test daily business processes with the new features.

What should you do if ACS isn’t covering all your optimization work?

Compare the work you need with what your subscription covers before you change anything. Oracle’s service description places some work outside ACS hours or with your own team:

  • Configuration and development on third-party applications
  • Any request larger than the per-request limit in your order form
  • Post-production support and user training

A workable sequence:

  1. List every open NetSuite request with its owner and the date it was raised.
  2. Ask your Customer Success Manager or ACS contact which requests fit your level and your remaining hours.
  3. Give the rest to a named owner, either your administrator or an outside partner, so nothing waits between two teams.

Here is one example from our accounts. At a media company that had ACS working on its expense report scripts, our team took the rest of the script library: an inventory of the order-to-cash and procure-to-pay scripts, a recommendation report on what to merge, retire or rewrite, and only then any merging.

Can a NetSuite partner work alongside ACS or replace it?

A partner can take on the same kinds of work under its own agreement, including configuration, scripts, integrations, release testing and regular reviews of the account. Some things come only from Oracle: the ACS Review, the ACS Playbooks and a designated Oracle Customer Success Manager. Which model fits depends on which of those you use.

A partner can also work alongside ACS. Many of the accounts we support carry scripts, workflows, templates or reports that Oracle’s Advanced Customer Support team built earlier, and our team maintains and extends them alongside our own work. We see this at no fewer than 10 client accounts.

If you are deciding whether to keep ACS, add a partner, or both, our page on NetSuite ACS alternatives compares the two models. For hiring your own administrator instead, see our guide to hiring a NetSuite administrator.

Way to get NetSuite help What it is When people use it
Support case Questions and problems sent to Oracle’s support team through SuiteAnswers, under Basic or Premium support A specific error, a question about product behavior, an issue with the platform
Oracle ACS A subscription with ACS hours, an annual ACS Review and, from Monitor up, designated people Release readiness, configuration and development within the hours, planned optimization
An in-house NetSuite administrator An employee who knows your processes Daily requests, user access, reports, user training
A NetSuite partner An outside team that works in your account Customizations, integrations, third-party applications and ongoing requests; scope depends on the agreement

How do I get NetSuite ACS?

Oracle’s ACS resources page says to contact your Account Manager, who can answer questions and help find the right ACS level for your business. Oracle does not publish ACS prices in the Help Center.

To prepare for that call:

  1. List the jobs you want help with, such as release testing, a subsidiary change or a script review.
  2. Count the people who handle NetSuite requests today and what each one covers.
  3. Ask which level fits those jobs, how many ACS hours come with it, and what the per-request limit is.
  4. Ask whether the level requires Premium Support and how requests reach the ACS team.

How Nuage approaches ACS and partner work together

For companies that have ACS or are weighing it, our team recommends these steps. The order changes with each account.

  1. Write down who owns what. Each recurring request type gets one named owner: Oracle’s ACS team, your administrator or your partner.
  2. Inventory the customizations and who built them. Scripts, workflows, templates and reports each get an owner and a note on what they do.
  3. Agree on release testing. Decide who tests in sandbox or Release Preview before each release, and who signs off.
  4. Keep one request queue. A single queue lets your finance team see the status of a request whichever group is working on it.

Nuage’s NetSuite experts do this work as part of Stratus managed services, starting at $2,500 a month.

NetSuite ACS FAQ

What is NetSuite ACS?

NetSuite Advanced Customer Support is Oracle’s subscription service for ongoing help optimizing a NetSuite account. Oracle describes it as hands-on product guidance, configuration, support and ongoing optimization. It comes in four levels, Advise, Monitor, Optimize and Architect, each with an annual ACS Review and a quantity of ACS hours set in your order form. Your Oracle account manager sells it.

What is ACS Optimize in NetSuite?

ACS Optimize is the third of the four ACS levels. Oracle describes it as expert solution management for a deeper, more proactive engagement, with a designated Customer Success Manager and a functional consultant. Its annual ACS Review runs up to 75 hours. Optimize also includes access to the ACS Playbooks and systems architecture guidance. It requires NetSuite Premium Support under a separate contract.

How much does NetSuite ACS cost?

Oracle does not publish ACS prices in its Help Center. Pricing comes from your Oracle account manager and depends on the level and the hours in your order form. When you compare quotes, ask how many hours come with each level, what the per-request limit is, whether the level requires Premium Support, and what happens to hours you do not use.

Is ACS the same as NetSuite Premium Support?

No. Premium Support is a support case offering, with phone and online cases available 24×7 according to Oracle’s Help Center. ACS is a separate subscription with ACS hours, an annual review and, from Monitor up, designated people. Oracle requires customers on ACS Optimize or ACS Architect to hold Premium Support under a separate contract.

Can a NetSuite partner work alongside ACS?

Yes. Oracle’s service description leaves user training, post-production support, and configuration and development on third-party applications with the customer, and a partner can take on those tasks under its own agreement. Many accounts our team supports also carry customizations that Oracle’s ACS team built, which we maintain alongside our own work. Agree in writing which requests go to ACS and which go to the partner.
