NetSuite ERP Implementation Partners: How to Compare and Choose One

netsuite erp implementation partners

By Louis Balla, CRO, Nuage Updated October 2026

A NetSuite ERP implementation partner is a firm that sets up NetSuite for your business and moves your data into it, and many stay on to support the system after go-live. To compare partners, check the partner type first, then ask each firm for its delivery record in your industry and its plan for support after launch.

What does a NetSuite implementation partner do?

An implementation partner runs the project that takes a company from its old system to daily use of NetSuite. The work usually includes:

  • designing how your processes will run in NetSuite and configuring the account to match
  • migrating data from the old system and connecting the systems you keep
  • training your team and supporting it through the first weeks after launch

Our NetSuite ERP implementation guide walks through each phase of that project and the timeline for it.

Types of NetSuite partners compared

Oracle runs several partner programs for NetSuite, and the program a firm belongs to tells you what it is set up to deliver. The descriptions below follow Oracle’s own program summaries on netsuite.com.

Partner type What Oracle says it does Strength for the buyer What to confirm
Solution Provider Sells NetSuite licenses and delivers implementation and support One firm handles the purchase and the project Who staffs ongoing support once the project closes
Alliance Partner Provides consulting and implementation services, including integrations Consulting and implementation from one firm How licensing is arranged, and which industries the firm has delivered in
SuiteCloud Developer Network member Builds “Built for NetSuite” applications for specific industries or processes, such as EDI or sales tax automation A ready-made application for a specific industry or process need Who implements the application and supports it alongside the rest of your account
BPO Partner Runs business processes, such as accounting, for clients on NetSuite Your process is operated for you Which work and which decisions stay with your own team

Ask each firm which programs it belongs to and which services it delivers with its own staff.

How to choose a NetSuite implementation partner

Partner type narrows the field. The questions below help you compare the firms that remain.

Has the partner delivered against its own timeline and budget?

Ask for references at companies like yours whose project finished on the date and budget the partner quoted, and speak to the finance lead at each one. For example, Nuage delivered Researched Nutritionals’ full NetSuite implementation on the timeline and budget it promised, and automated the supplement company’s fulfillment along the way. For what sets the budget in the first place, see our NetSuite implementation cost guide.

How will the partner set up user access and integration credentials?

This question is for your IT lead. Each integration connects to NetSuite through credentials, such as access tokens, that run under a user account someone chooses at setup. Ask a prospective partner which accounts its integrations will run under and how it will assign roles at go-live.

The answer affects how quickly changes get made after launch. In our own resolved client requests, access and permission changes closed at a median of 11.8 days, while net-new builds took a median of 63 days. Work that touched an integration or previously delivered custom code took roughly twice as long as a configuration change, so we pin down one owner and any outside dependency before scoping.

What happens after go-live?

Requests keep coming after launch as people learn the system and the business changes. Ask each partner who will handle them, and compare the support models below.

Support model after go-live Strengths Trade-offs to weigh
Your own team takes over at launch Full internal ownership and no ongoing partner fee Needs in-house NetSuite administration and development skills; larger requests become new projects
A dedicated in-house NetSuite administrator Daily knowledge of your business and people Coverage depends on one person’s hours and availability; scripting and integration work may still need outside help
Ongoing managed services from a partner A team with several specialists, and continuity with people who know your account A monthly fee, and work is planned within the hours you buy

A partner can also join after go-live. Paini US, a manufacturer, brought Nuage in to work on the NetSuite account it already had, and our team helped make it the system the company runs its operations on.

How to build a shortlist of top NetSuite implementation partners

Published lists of top NetSuite partners use different criteria, so build your own shortlist from evidence you can check:

  • the partner program the firm belongs to and the services it delivers with its own staff
  • verified reviews on an independent site such as Clutch, read for companies of your size and industry
  • references you can call, ideally one finance lead and one IT lead
  • the named people who would work on your account

As an example of what reviews can tell you: Nuage holds a 4.9 out of 5 average across 14 verified Clutch reviews, and Clutch named Nuage a 2026 Top NetSuite Company in California. A fruit juice company wrote that its accounting team now closes monthly financials within two weeks after a configuration review and new workflows. A VP of Finance pointed to the number of Nuage teammates available to help.

How Nuage approaches implementation and support

In a recent project, our team planned the hand-off to ongoing support around the first month-end close. An equipment rental company went live with a heavily customized integration from its rental system, and we agreed with the client to treat that first close as the test and to move into managed services only after that close succeeds. The hand-off includes a formal knowledge transfer and written documentation, and the implementation developer stays available to the Stratus team.

Frequently asked questions about NetSuite implementation partners

Who implements NetSuite?

NetSuite is implemented either by NetSuite’s own professional services team or by a partner firm. Partners belong to Oracle programs such as Solution Provider, which covers licensing along with implementation and support, and Alliance Partner, which covers consulting and implementation.

What is the difference between a NetSuite Solution Provider and an Alliance Partner?

In Oracle’s descriptions, a Solution Provider sells NetSuite licenses and delivers implementation and support, so one firm covers the purchase and the project. An Alliance Partner provides consulting and implementation services, including integrations, that help customers get more value from NetSuite. Either type can implement NetSuite, so compare firms on experience in your industry and on the team that would work on your account.

Are NetSuite consulting partners different from implementation partners?

Many firms offer both. Implementation is the project that takes you live. Consulting covers the work around it, such as process reviews before the project and reporting, new modules and process changes after it. Ask whether the people who would advise you also do the configuration work. Our NetSuite ERP consulting services guide covers the range of services.

Can you change NetSuite partners after go-live?

Yes. Companies change partners after go-live, and a new partner should start by assessing the account. Ask your current partner for a list of custom scripts and who wrote them, and for each integration with the user account it runs under. Export current role assignments as well. If your licenses were bought through a partner, confirm with your Oracle account team how the subscription is handled during the change.
